Spring is in the air... Kind of in the Midwest

Need a break from the Midwest Winter

As I sit here on a cold Saturday morning, I am thinking about all the amazing trips and places I have traveled over the years. Spring break when living in the Midwest is, I feel, one of the best times to pack the bags and head Down the Road.

But where to go and how to make that choice. I could do a staycation? Ok now I know I need to get out of here. I could go big or go home or maybe a classic favorite. With that thought in mind I remember some buzz on the news and all over the internet about Chat GPT. What is that you may ask let me explain briefly and then back to the story.

It is an AI Language model developed by OpenAI that has been trained on a vast corpus of text data, allowing it to understand and generate natural language in a way that is similar to human speech. It can be used in a variety of application, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and other conversational interfaces, to help people communicate more effectively with computers and other digital devices. (To put it in a way I understand all that, you type in a question, and it spits out information that is written better than I could write when I was in high school.

Now back to the story, I decided to use the new “tool” and ask it a specific question:

"Tell me the top 3 spring break vacation trips for adults 40 to 55 from the Midwest united states."

Now remember I said it can writer better than me in high school English class and this was the response...

As an AI language model, I cannot provide subjective opinions. However, I can suggest three popular destinations that adults in the age range of 40-55 from the Midwest United States may enjoy during spring break:

  1. Miami, Florida - Miami is a popular spring break destination known for its warm weather, beautiful beaches, and vibrant nightlife. It's a great place to soak up the sun, relax on the beach, and explore the city's many cultural and culinary offerings.
  2. Las Vegas, Nevada - Las Vegas is another popular spring break destination that offers a range of activities and entertainment options for adults. From world-class dining and shopping to shows and nightlife, there is something for everyone in Sin City.
  3. New Orleans, Louisiana - For those looking for a more laid-back spring break experience, New Orleans offers a unique blend of history, culture, and nightlife. From exploring the city's famous French Quarter to enjoying live music and Cajun cuisine, New Orleans is a great destination for adults looking for a fun and memorable spring break.

Cheeky this AI stuff is but what can I say, I do have to give it to SkyNet here for painting such an amazing image in my mind for an adult get away. All three destinations sound like I need to follow the advice of a wise songwriter and follow instructions... "Leaving on a jet plane, don't know if I’ll be back again."

I do love the Midwest but the thought of getting away at this time of year is one of the strongest thoughts and feelings deep inside of me. And I believe you too. What every you're doing today, explore where you would go for a spring break trip, look at magazines, watch a travel show or take the big leap and ask “Jarvis” AI what places you should be considering for a quick getaway. Once you get that far, think of contacting a local Travel Agent in your community to help put it all together with you. Their expertise and support will be there to find all the great details, get you there and more importantly, bring you back to plan the next adventure.
